My name is Naoko McCracken. I’m a bilingual (Japanese/English) front-end web developer and author. I was born and raised in Japan – I currently live in the Metro Detroit area of Michigan, USA.

I help Japanese WordPress community, blog for WordPress.com, write WordPress books, design & code WordPress themes, and organize WordPress events. In case you’re unsure of what kind of blogging software I’d recommend – I think WordPress is a fine choice

When I’m not in front of my Mac, I enjoy traveling, reading (mostly nonfiction & some contemporary novels), and listening to music.

About blog.detlog.org

The domain name detlog.org simply came from “blog by someone living near Detroit”.
I don’t live in the City of Detroit (I’m about 10 miles north from there) but I thought this can give a pretty good idea of my approximate location to people around the world. Plus I like that it sounds somewhat mysterious and geeky.
